I boiled some red cabbage in water which gave me purple concentrate. A tiny pinch of baking soda in it turned it blue.  Boiled spinach leaves gave me a muted green color for leaves. Boiled onion skins gave me a tiny bit of orange and brownish concentrates (for the flower centers). Powdered sugar added to the concentrates will (hopefully) mix well with the frosting. I'm hoping the colors will look good in the buttercream roses I'm going to be making during the next couple of weeks.

I am just amazed by this. Do show us the roses when they're done.

Well, they aren't the color I want them to be, but I'll try another batch and maybe they'll be better.

I have fabric roses in that color. Lovely. Looking forward to the next batch.
